Beam exiting White Source
![]() In the top image, the source is at the right, and the ribbon beam exits the red-hot source aperture (~1000C). The image is taken through a blue filter, or the camera would have been blinded by the red glow. The beam passes first through a suppression electrode then a ground electrode with a long shielding can, before emerging at left.
In the lower view, a mirror was arranged below the beam to look upwards. Note that the beam converges as it moves from right to left. This picture was taken to confirm the predictions of the SORCERY code. This is the same beam in two orthogonal views. The scale is not identical.
